How to apply

Admission Requirements (Nigeria)

 

CatherineMary International School admits pupils in line with Nigerian educational standards and Ministry of Education guidelines.

👶 FOR CHILDREN

 

✅ Age Requirements (In Line with Nigerian System)

 

  • Creche: 6 months – 2 years
  • Nursery (Pre-School): 3 – 5 years
  • Primary School: 6 – 11 years
  • Secondary School (Upcoming): 12 years and above

(Age is determined as at September of the admission year.)

📄 Required Documents

 

  • Birth Certificate (National Population Commission Certificate or Hospital Birth Record)
  • Immunization Card/Health Record (As required by Nigerian public health regulations)
  • Previous School Report Card & Testimonial (For transfer students within Nigeria or abroad)

Entrance Assessment

  • Nursery & Primary: Basic literacy and numeracy screening
  • Upper Primary/Secondary: Written test in English, Mathematics & General Studies

  • Voter’s Card (acceptable in Nigeria)
  • Proof of Residential Address
  • NEPA/PHED electricity bill
  • Water bill
  • Tenancy agreement (if applicable)

🤝 Parent Interaction

 

  • Introductory Meeting/Interview
  • Parents/Guardians meet with school management to discuss:
  • Child’s academic background
  • School expectations
  • Code of conduct
  • Undertaking Form

Parents must sign an agreement to abide by:

  • School rules & regulations
  • Fee payment policies
  • Discipline and academic standards

🏥 Additional Requirements (Nigeria Standard)

 

  • Medical Report
  • From a recognized Nigerian hospital or clinic
  • Passport Photographs
  • 4 recent passport photographs of the child
  • 2 passport photographs of each parent/guardian

  1. Purchase & submit application form
  2. Submit required documents
  3. Child takes entrance assessment (if applicable)
  4. Parent/Guardian meeting
  5. Offer of provisional admission

For Children:

Age Bracket:

  • Creche: 6 months – 2 years
  • Pre-Nursery: 2 – 3 years
  • Nursery: 3 – 5 years
  • Primary: 6 – 11 years
  • Secondary: 12 years and above
  • Birth Certificate: Certified true copy
  • Immunization Record: Up-to-date and signed by a health professional
  • Passport Photographs: 2 recent passport-sized photos
  • Medical Report: Basic health status from a recognized clinic
  • Entrance Assessment: Required for placement into Nursery, Primary, and Secondary

For Parents/Guardians:

  • Completed Application Form: Obtainable from the school admin office or website
  • Valid ID: National ID, Driver’s License, or International Passport
  • Proof of Address: Utility bill or tenancy agreement
  • Passport Photographs: 2 copies of each parent/guardian
  • Parent Interview: A brief meeting with school management
  • Signed Undertaking: Agreement to abide by school rules and policies

Additional Notes:

  • Transfer students must submit last school’s report card and *testimonial*.
  • All documents must be submitted in a file jacket with child’s name clearly written
